Upon receipt of your application, you will be invited for an interview with our course director. They will ask you about your teaching experience and language awareness to help decide whether this course is suitable for you. The interview is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about the course and decide if it is right for you. Interviews will be conducted by telephone or Skype for applicants who are not currently residing in Hong Kong or China.

You will be notified by letter as to whether or not your application is successful. Once you have been accepted on the course, a non-refundable deposit of HK$10,000 is required to confirm your place. The remaining balance of the course fee must be paid at least two weeks prior to the course start date.
As the course is high demand, applicants are reminded that all course fees are non-refundable unless a course is cancelled.

- Face-to-face block runs through the Chinese New Year school holidays in February 2016
The total Course Fee is HK$36,000*
Upon being accepted onto the course, you will need to make a non-refundable deposit of HK$10,000 to secure your place on the course.
The balance of HK$26,000 is due two weeks before commencing the online component of the course. All fees are non-refundable unless a course is cancelled.
*If you wish to complete your teaching practice in your own school with your own students, a small surcharge may be incurred to cover additional travel time and costs of the instructor, depending on the location of your school.
Aside from the course price, the following will also have to be paid in order to complete the course:
Trinity examination fees:
(These are paid towards the end of your course, approximately a month before you submit the units).
Examination Unit 2014 Fee in £ (GBP) – paid as HK$ equivalent
- Unit 1 £32.00
- Unit 2 £69.00
- Unit 3 £122.00
- Unit 4 £228.00
Required books: There are 7 books you’ll be required to have in order to complete the course. If you purchase them all as new the approximate cost is HK$2,500.
Resit fees, if applicable, are as follows:
- Unit 2 – Classroom observation instrument £25.00
- Unit 2 – Developmental Record £25.00
- Unit 2 – Project £25.00
- Unit 4 – Internal lesson £35.00
- Unit 4 fees: If a candidate fails the internal assessment only then the fee above applies. If a candidate fails all the other sections in Unit 4 then the full fee applies.
- Unit 2 fees: If a candidate fails on one of the sections in Unit 2 then the relevant section fee above applies.
- Units 1 and 3 candidates have to pay the full fee to resit.
Prospective candidates for the DipTESOL must be current teachers of ESOL with at least two years’ full-time teaching experience. A first degree or equivalent is required and it is recommended that candidates have an initial TESOL qualification such as the Trinity CertTESOL, Cambridge CELTA or equivalent.
If English is your second or foreign language, you will need to demonstrate the appropriate competence in your spoken and written English, for example by holding a minimum Grade 11 in the Trinity Graded Examinations in Spoken English or other recognised CEFR C1 certificate.
In general you should have a high level of competence and interest in both language and language teaching that will enable you to follow this demanding course of advanced study.
